Laurinburg, N.C.--Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court, Justice Paul Newby visited the Scotland County Courthouse during the morning of Wednesday, June 29th. Justice Newby was visiting the Scotland County Courthouse as well as other courthouses to thank all court personnel for their dedication and commitment to keeping the justice system of North Carolina functioning and accountable during the COVID-19 pandemic. During his visit, he mentioned the cleanliness and positive appearance of the courthouse facilities despite the age of the facility. Justice Newby was told that the reason for the great appearance was due to the dedicated efforts of the courthouse custodial staff, Mary Liles, Danielle Voland, and Billy Perkins Jr.
As a token of appreciation, Justice Newby recognized the staff that was present by giving each a North Carolina Judicial System lapel pin. All of the court system staff commented on what a wonderful job all three of the custodial staff go above and beyond to keep the facilities clean and sanitary.
These are just three of the dedicated and hard working custodial staff that keep all of the buildings of Scotland County Government clean and sanitary. They are all hard-working and wonderful individuals that sometimes don’t get the recognition they deserve for a job well done..
