MOSQUITO ABATEMENT
Laurinburg, N.C. – October 15,
2018, 4:30 p.m. – Hurricane Florence has produced a bumper crop of mosquitoes
in Scotland county, as well as in the surrounding areas. Due to this disaster,
the County has been granted permission by the State to conduct truck mounted
ultra-low volume spraying, commonly called fogging. This fogging will begin
tomorrow, Monday, October 15, 2018 during the late evening hours.
In addition, staff is working
with North Carolina Cooperative Extension Agency concerning beehives.
Currently the Scotland County
Health Department has Mosquito kits that will be given out to residents of
Scotland County on a first come first serve basis.
