[ARCHIVED] Mosquito Spraying

October 15, 2018

Laurinburg, N.C. – October 15, 2018, 4:30 p.m. – Hurricane Florence has produced a bumper crop of mosquitoes in Scotland county, as well as in the surrounding areas. Due to this disaster, the County has been granted permission by the State to conduct truck mounted ultra-low volume spraying, commonly called fogging. This fogging will begin tomorrow, Monday, October 15, 2018 during the late evening hours.

In addition, staff is working with North Carolina Cooperative Extension Agency concerning beehives.

Currently the Scotland County Health Department has Mosquito kits that will be given out to residents of Scotland County on a first come first serve basis.
