Laurinburg—Recently, officials from around the region attended a plat review officials training at the Scotland County Emergency Operations Center.  The training was offered by the Land Records Management Division of the North Carolina Secretary of State’s office.  Officials from inspections, zoning, tax, and mapping took part in the half-day training.  Scotland County’s Director of Zoning and Inspections, Thomas Milligan organized the training which drew more than 35 officials from across Eastern North Carolina.  Mr. John Bridgers, the instructor for the class bragged on the facility at the Emergency Operations Center.  “This is one of the nicest places that we have ever had this training.  We will definitely be back here.”, stated Mr. Bridgers.

Every county in North Carolina is required to have map review officers appointed by the Board of County Commissioners.
