The Lumber River Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) team is in place to provide debriefing services and a stress management resource to all emergency response agencies (Police, Fire, Sheriff, Rescue, EMS, 911, Hospital Emergency Departments, etc)  in the Lumber River Council of Government region who experience a catastrophic event or incident that affects the mental and physical health and well being of the personnel from the responding agency or agencies involved.  The team is composed of trained volunteer members who come from all different emergency response disciplines and provide their services free of charge.  The team can be contacted at 1-800-672-8255 and is available 24 hours a day.

Anyone interested in becoming a trained team member should contact Flora Gail Lowery-Williams at Robeson Community College in Lumberton to inquire about training.
