Meeting held to discuss bicycle routes

Local volunteers, the N.C. Dept. of Transportation, and Scotland County Parks and Recreation met Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007 to discuss bicycle routes for Scotland County. The purpose of the project is to map and sign a system of transportation bicycling routes which will connect various municipalities via roads currently good for bicycling and will provide  connections to major points of interest such as parks, recreation areas, and historic sites as well as existing area cycling routes. A map/brochure detailing the routes with additional cyclist-oriented information will be produced to enhance local bicycle transportation.
