Board of Health

The eleven (11) members of the Board of Health have the responsibility to protect and promote public health. The composition of the Board of Health shall reasonably reflect the population makeup of Scotland County. Members serve three (3) year terms and the Commissioner serving on the Board of Health may serve as long as they remain a County Commissioner. 


Meetings

Regular meetings are bi-monthly on the third Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. in the Emergency Operations Center Conference Room. 


Members of the public can also view the meetings on Scotland County's YouTube channel at 6:00 p.m.


Responsibilities

The Board of Health has the responsibility to promote and protect public health. They are the rule-making, policy making, and adjudicatory body for the Health Department and shall have the authority to adopt rules necessary for that purpose.
